Benefits of Colon Hydrotherapy
The Colon
The colon or large intestine is situated at the end of the digestive tract and is divided into several sections. Its primary functions are to:
- Store and eliminate waste material
- Absorb water and electrolytes
- To synthesise Vitamin K
The colon is expected to partially empty at least once every 24 hours. It is the main part of the eliminative system of the body so it is important to keep the bowel function regular to prevent other eliminative organs becoming overworked and to avoid the effect of toxins building up in the body.
Poor bowel function may be seen throughout the entire body in a wide range of health problems.
The aim of the treatment is to:
- Cleanse the colon of toxic material even debris built up over a long period is gently removed in the process of a series of treatments. Once impacted material is removed your colon can begin again to co-operate as it was intended to.
- Exercise the colon - build up of toxin and debris weakens the colon and impacts its function. Motivating the colon to resume normal peristalsis to move waste material.
- It stimulates reflex points - every system and organ of the body is connected to the colon by reflex points. Stimulation of these points affects corresponding organs in a beneficial way.
- It reshapes the colon - when problem conditions exist in the colon they tend to alter its shape which in turn causes more problems. The gentle action of the water, and the massage techniques help to eliminate bulging pockets of waste and narrowed, spastic constrictions finally enabling the colon to resume its natural state.
- Improving well being and energy.
